Electrostatic powder coating process is based on the principle of high-voltage electrostatic corona field. High voltage negative pole is connected to the metal guide mark of the powder coating gun head, and workpiece is grounded to form a positive pole, which forms a strong electrostatic field between spray gun and workpiece. When powders are sent from powder hopper to the guide rod of spray gun by compressed air, the corona discharge produced by the high voltage negative pole connected to the guide rod generates dense negative charge around the guide rod, which makes the powder charged negatively and enters into the electrostatic field with high electric field intensity. Under the dual action of electrostatic force and carrier gas, the powder evenly flies to the surface of workpiece to form a uniform powder layer.
